The robberies happened all around Atlanta, but Larry Barnhill was
never a suspect—he was living a respectable life in Florida. He had a wife
and son. A college graduate, Larry was a successful event promoter who
most recently was the Assistant Director of the Orange Bowl in Miami, the
first ever African-American to hold that position. He was an upstanding
citizen. He made good money and had a life that others would envy. Not by
anyone’s definition would he have been considered a likely bank robber.
